Good point, there is very little to gain, just some pointless items. Then again if it were sony you'd need both so you could complete the games

i dobt twilight princess will link to phantom hourglas as the are set at different times and anyway whats the point? Oh yeah, they're set at different times! That's impossible to link up then, or if they do, it would be a little bit stupid. Perhaps the DS on its own will link up to the Wii and Twilight Princess. Like how the Gameboy Advance linked up to the Gamecube and Windwaker on its own.

That would be kinda cool then, as long as it isn't an important part of the game that it unlocks, else thats unfair!

In the WindWaker all the Gameboy Advance hook-up to the Gamecube did was let you unlock from it was golden Tingle statues which you still had to work for, and a little bit of Tingle's history, which was nothing crucial to the game. All that the statues did was award the player with rupees, this may not be much but in the game alot of rupees were needed at one point, however rupees can be collected easily anyway.

so all in all a minigame or summat would have been much better! often the gba linkup is used to unlock cheats, but i guess zelda doesn't have cheats....

and if it did it would take away the sence of adventure.

cheats usually make you feel more adventurous but if you mean it would set defining boundries of what you can do in the game then yea i get where youre comming from with that .

I was not suggesting cheats for zelda (that defeats the point really) but for games like Fifa 2003 where using GBA link up unlocked cheats like big players, and also with FPS games unlocking paintball mode etc.

For the Windwaker the only help the GBA gave was the GBA being able to instantly bomb anything, give you a potion, invincibility for 10 short seconds, walk in the air for 5 seconds or plot points at sea, but all of that cost the player money anyway, the only times I used the bombs was obtaining the hidden Tingle statues (which you need a GBA bomb for).
